The short answer: Citizens State Bank and Altitude Bank are two names for one bank. Same people, same accounts, same hometown commitment you’ve counted on for more than a century.
Why Altitude Bank?
This isn’t a sudden change. It’s something we’ve been planning thoughtfully for a while. Altitude Bank is a name that reflects who we are and where we live: the mountain towns of Western Colorado.
Citizens State Bank is a proud name, but it’s also one shared by many banks across the country. Altitude Bank is distinctly ours. It gives us a stronger, clearer identity as we grow, while everything behind it stays exactly the same.
What isn’t changing (hint: everything that matters)
We want to be completely clear, because we know name changes can make people nervous. We have not been sold. We have not been acquired. We have no plans to do either. We are the same locally owned community bank. That means nothing changes for you:

Durango: the first branch to lead as Altitude Bank
This November, we’re opening our newest branch in Durango, and it’s a milestone in more ways than one. Durango will be our first location to lead with the Altitude Bank name, proudly “Powered by Citizens State Bank.” Those words say it all – the name on the door may be new, but the bank behind it is the same one that has served Western Colorado for more than 110 years. Durango customers will get the same local decision-making, personal service, and community investment our existing customers know well.
